Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze existing SQL Server databases, schemas, and data structures to support migration planning.
  • Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts for data extraction, transformation, and validation.
  • Utilize Power BI, SSRS, and Tableau to generate reports and dashboards that provide insights into data integrity, completeness, and migration status.
  • Document data objects, data lineage, relationships, and transformations for migration reference..
  • Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure seamless migration and adherence to best practices.
  • Perform data quality assessments, anomaly detection, and validation checks to ensure accuracy post-migration.
  • Optimize SQL queries and performance-tune reports for efficiency in handling large datasets.
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for reporting and data-related issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in SQL development with strong knowledge of T-SQL, stored procedures, indexing, and query optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI, SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services), and Tableau for data visualization and reporting.
  • Experience with data migration projects, particularly from SQL Server to cloud-based storage solutions (Azure Data Lake Storage - ADLS preferred).
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and database structures.
  • Proficiency in data documentation, lineage tracking, and metadata management.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets to drive business insights.
  • Experience in working with large datasets and performance tuning for reporting solutions.
  • Knowledge of Azure Data Services (ADLS, Synapse, Databricks) is a plus.
