Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Building Automation Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will assist in overseeing the successful planning, execution, and completion of building automation projects. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all specified requirements. This position requires strong project management, technical expertise, and effective communication skills, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow in the building automation field.

Compensation:

$69,000–$90,000, based on skills and experience. Compensation is negotiable.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning: Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating building automation projects from initiation to completion. Collaborate with the team to define project objectives and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Project Execution: Assist in leading the implementation and execution of building automation projects, including the installation and integration of automation systems, controls, and equipment. Coordinate and manage project teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Budget Management: Develop and monitor project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring cost control. Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering options without compromising project objectives.
  • Scope Management: Manage project changes and variations, including scope changes, schedule adjustments, and contract modifications. Assess the impact of changes and communicate with stakeholders to ensure understanding and buy-in.
  • People Management : Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders. Conduct regular project status meetings and provide timely updates on project progress, risks, and issues.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, schedules, contracts, change orders, and progress reports. Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance : Ensure that all project deliverables meet Brooks and specified quality standards and adhere to relevant industry codes and regulations. Conduct regular inspections to verify compliance, Address any deficiencies promptly and effectively.
  • Technical Expertise: Possess a Basic understanding of building mechanical, and automation systems, controls, and technologies. Collaborate with design and engineering teams to develop innovative and efficient solutions that meet client requirements. Provide guidance and support to project team when needed.


Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field. Relevant certifications or an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including project planning, execution, and risk management.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with clients, team members, and end-users.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to company protocols.
  • Knowledge of building automation systems, controls, and technologies a plus.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools a plus.
  • Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams a plus.
