The Role
The Senior Art Instructor is a full-time position responsible for delivering a positive and memorable customer experience. They provide exemplary painting instruction, customer assistance, and participate in kitchen responsibilities. This role goes beyond leading and assisting, as the Senior Art Instructor also plays a pivotal role in mentoring newer artists, supporting the new hire training process, and assisting in other studio operations as required.

The Role
The Senior Art Instructor is a full-time position responsible for delivering a positive and memorable customer experience. They provide exemplary painting instruction, customer assistance, and participate in kitchen responsibilities. This role goes beyond leading and assisting, as the Senior Art Instructor also plays a pivotal role in mentoring newer artists, supporting the new hire training process, and assisting in other studio operations as required.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide exemplary customer service, setting a high standard for the team.
- Prepare for upcoming sessions by printing session lists, assigning group seating, and preparing paint palettes.
- Follow cleaning checklists and support the session breakdown process by emptying trash bins, cleaning brushes, hanging up aprons, and ensuring the studio is primed for the following session.
- Greet customers upon arrival, showing them their seat, aprons, and explaining the food and drink QR menu.
- Complete master paintings in line with Muse policy and procedure, ensuring the approved master is set up above the stage prior to the session.
- Provide step-by-step painting instruction, engage with the customers, and manage time effectively to stay within the allocated session time.
- Offer direct assistance to customers, engaging with the crowd, and offering support and encouragement throughout the session.
- Take photos of the session and upload them to Google Photos before closing.
- Serve as a cashier, bartender, and server, providing food and beverage service at bar and tableside.
- Participate in cook shifts, preparing food as orders arrive, ensuring high quality and presentation.
- Follow kitchen safety protocol, ensuring guidelines are consistently met.
- Monitor refrigerator and freezer temperatures, log them accurately, and report any changes in the safe zone to the Store Manager.
- Assist in receiving and unpacking deliveries, handling invoices and reporting discrepancies to the Store Manager and Operations team.
- Provide necessary studio operation support, participating in inventory counts and troubleshooting technology and in-studio concerns when the Store Manager is unavailable or as otherwise assigned.
- Provide hands-on mentorship and training to new and emerging team members, ensuring they develop the skills necessary to excel in their roles and helping them integrate into the team.
- Assist in the new hire training process, ensuring they're well-acquainted with company standards and policies.
- Provide regular check-ins with new artists, offer support, and gather feedback.
- Organize and lead training sessions and workshops as assigned, to foster a knowledgeable team environment.
- Share knowledge, techniques, and best practices with the team.
- Vibrant Personality: Possess an enthusiastic, outgoing, and engaging personality, creating a lively and enjoyable atmosphere for customers.

- Reliable Transportation: Must have reliable transportation and willingness to travel, up to 20% each week.
- Flexible Work Schedule: Ability to work varied hours, including days, evenings and weekends.
- Full-time Availability: Ability to work full time, 35-40 hours per week.
- Weekend Commitment: Ability to fulfill a minimum requirement of four full weekend days per month.
- Must be 21 years or older.
- 4+ years of painting experience, acrylic medium preferred.
- Some formal training in the arts - Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education preferred.
- Experience in teaching art, especially in groups.
- Experience working in a bar or restaurant.
- Alcohol Safety/TIPS certification (Muse will provide this training if needed).
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a similar role or setting.
- Experience in mentoring or training roles, showcasing the ability to nurture and develop talent.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, bend, climb, and reach.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
