About the Role

We are seeking a Staff Electrical Power Engineer to join our Rolled Products North America (RPNA) business unit at Davenport Works, the largest aluminum rolling mill in the U.S. This role is critical in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and optimization of our electrical power systems.

You will lead power distribution projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive energy efficiency initiatives in a high-tech manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership Manage the design, procurement, and implementation of electrical distribution and energy efficiency projects.
Power Distribution Management Oversee medium voltage (MV) power systems, ensuring stability and reliability.
Electrical System Optimization Develop innovative solutions to enhance energy efficiency and electrical network performance.
Technical Problem-Solving Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve electrical challenges.
Construction & Outage Supervision Direct maintenance personnel, contractors, and designers during field construction and power outages.
Failure Analysis & Root Cause Investigation Troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions to prevent system failures.
Arc Flash & Short Circuit Studies Oversee compliance studies and implement necessary safety improvements.
Shift & Weekend Support Primarily a first-shift role, but occasional off-shift and weekend support may be required.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum 5 years of electrical engineering experience.
Knowledge of medium voltage (MV) power distribution systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
U.S. work authorization required (visa sponsorship is NOT available).
Must comply with Export Administration Regulations (EAR) & ITAR.

Preferred Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
5+ years executing power distribution projects.
2+ years using power modeling software (ETAP, SKM, EasyPower) for arc flash & short circuit studies.
Expertise in switchgear, MCCs, transfer switches, switch yards, generators, UPS, transformers, and power control systems.
3+ years leading electrical engineering projects.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Project Management Software.
