Tesla is seeking an experienced Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Engineer to support Environmental and manufacturing operations teams by designing, developing, and continuously improving SCADA solutions that monitor, record, and visualize environmental process data.
The SCADA Engineer will help assure Tesla maintains compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and track, record, and visualize Key Performance Indicator metrics. The SCADA Engineer will help assure Tesla maintains compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and track, record, and visualize Key Performance Indicator metrics. The SCADA Engineer will report to the Sr Environmental Manager California Manufacturing and will leverage SCADA engineering to take environmental monitoring to the next level, find applications for data and create Sustainable Solutions to accelerate the worlds transition to renewable energy.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of a scalable SCADA system to monitor, visualize, and record operational parameters and events required by environmental permits and internal policies/initiatives
- Partner with factory shop engineering teams and other disciplines to achieve SCADA integration to a standard platform
- Partner with environmental engineers and other stakeholders to transform requirements into automated data collection pipelines
- Work with MySQL databases and other data storage to create environmental metric reports and dashboards
- Evaluate cross-functional data related to waste, water, hazardous materials, energy, and emissions
- Create and troubleshoot Python scripts, SQL queries, OPC connection issues, network issues, etc.
- Create live dashboards for process parameter monitoring and hazard signaling
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Experience developing a SCADA system for process data recording and visualization for internal customers
- Ignition programming experience - Ignition with experience in complex python scripting
- Detail oriented and highly motivated to achieve and maintain code and documentations
- Ability to integrate and communicate effectively across many disciplines
- Advanced to expert knowledge in the following topics: Ignition (Inductive Automation) development, PLC experience, Web / SharePoint development, Data Visualization techniques and dashboard creation, Python, MySQL, Tableau, ETL, Distributed Computing and Networking, Splunk, GIT-CI/CD

$150,560 - $225,840/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
