Job Description
Working with the VP, Platform Technology, this team member will execute planned technology strategy with solutions providers and partners integrating with Mayo Clinic Platform, ensuring appropriate coordination with MCP Product and Services teams, Mayo Clinic IT (and its various offices) as well as all MCP construction partners and vendors. Working closely with the assigned Mayo IT Technical Architect, the Technology Director will be responsible for the design and architecture oversight ensuring all decisions related to the MCP technical infrastructure meet MCP expectations and requirements with regards to Mayo Clinic Platform. This team member will provide IT support for day-to-day general operations including but not limited to licensing, budgeting, ordering, planning, and coordinating support with Mayo IT and vendor/partner IT.
The position will be responsible for the following essential functions:
Define a Hardware and Software solutions roadmap within the portfolio. Solutions will be focused on creating a Platform Foundation that spans across all future Product lines - across different segments and regions.
Manage and maintain a technical roadmap of platform capabilities that enables Mayo Clinic to lead in the market.
Partner with Mayo Clinic IT, Mayo Clinic Cloud and Center of Digital Health to continue to leverage the growing capabilities within Mayo with emphasis on Mayo Clinic Platform Solutions providers.
In partnership with MCP Product team, drive Make vs Partner vs Buy options in upcoming technology areas that may be of interest as part of its growth strategies.
Drive alignment between the Platform roadmap, technology enablers and the product line needs of now and future.
Participate in business case review and approvals to ensure maximum reuse of Platform technologies.
Responsible for Platform technical definition and managing business requirements and expectations.
Support for lifecycle across requirements and design.
Contribute current knowledge and future vision of how technology and systems will enable business strategy, growth, and competitive positioning for Mayo Clinic Platform Solutions Providers.
Assess and prioritize all emerging technologies and innovations that Mayo Clinic should consider investing in so that it can remain ahead of its competitors and its clients.
Develop a cohesive plan for technology development and deployment that incorporates the specific needs of each of the individual businesses of Solutions Providers.
Ensuring the program technical milestones happen on time, technologies launch successfully, and software evolution strategies are in place.
Partner with Mayo Clinic IT groups to create unified, operational, and scalable platform capabilities

Qualifications
Bachelors degree in a relevant information technology field or a minimum 7 years direct enterprise healthcare IT leadership experience.
3-5 years supervisory/management experience required.
3-5 years project management, system architecture, and design.
Advanced technical computer skills as required for technical support, oversight and planning to functional area and related systems.
Experience directly delivering and supporting clinical systems in an inpatient or outpatient setting.
Experience with cloud architecture, deployments, and management in an enterprise setting.
Travel up to 25% of the time.
Experience with Hyperscale Cloud Environments (Google preferred but AWS or Azure also considered)
Experience with DevOps principles and implementation
Experience with Interoperability standards such as HL7 and FHIR.
Experience with solutions integration/delivery in a healthcare setting.
Desired Characteristics:
Experience in driving and leading technology development and technical capability to guide strategically and manage resources.
Business acumen, to gauge not just what can be done but to know what can be cost effectively and sustainably
Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and constituents.
