Job Title - ServiceNow Subject Matter Expert
Location: Fort Meade MD
Duration: 9-12 months
Job Description:
Candidate must be able to be on site at Fort Meade, Scott AFB, or Hill AFB daily. At a minimum, a Secret clearance is required upon the start of employment and within 14 days following the start date the employee must obtain their Security + certification.
The ServiceNow SME is responsible for providing technical and strategic expertise in managing, configuring, and optimizing the ServiceNow platform. Their responsibilities typically include, but are not limited to platform administration and configuration, workflow and process automation, development and customization, integration and data management, performance optimization and troubleshooting, training and user support, governance and compliance, upgrades and enhancements, and strategic planning and roadmap development.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Possess in depth knowledge of the Telecommunication Management System (TSM), Telecommunications Network Inventory (TNI), Telecommunications Service Operations management Order Management (TSOM), Telecommunications (OMT) modules
  • Support the standup, configuration and implementation of ServiceNow s ITSM, OMT, TSM, and TSOM modules
  • Assist in the design, creation, and maintenance of the ServiceNow Forms, Reports, Views, Workflows, Groups and Roles
  • Assist in the design, creation, enhancements, and maintenance of Dashboards and reporting, including scheduled reports
  • Architect and design tool integrations with ServiceNow (Elastic, Netcool, Kafka, etc)
  • Coordinate and support application and platform upgrades
  • Assist with design, creation and cataloging of business process flows
  • Work with other members of the ServiceNow development team to propose solutions based on business needs and strategies
  • Perform the necessary tasks to design and assist in configuring ServiceNow functions to meet operational needs
  • Support business process re-engineering activities to move ticketing and order management capabilities into ServiceNow
  • Identify trends and find patterns in unstructured and semi-structured customer data that can be used to create a more positive customer experience and increase overall network performance
  • Interact with the customer to address Systems Engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues or conflicts
Basic Qualifications:
  • Typically requires BS degree and 12 15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 13 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain.
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance and ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Security+ certification or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT II certification within 14 days of start date
  • Understanding of ITIL foundation or ITIL certified
  • Experience in architecture, design, development, and delivery of data driven operations capabilities, within a DoD environment, including experience building and deploying software applications that meet DoD security standards and updating applications and code to meet security scans and security implementation guidelines (e.g. STIGs).
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow standup, configuration, and/or maintenance
  • 2+ years of direct experience with the ServiceNow Telecommunications modules
  • Experience with JIRA, Git and Confluence
  • Experience working with a highly technical team and in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to commute to Scott AFB, IL, Ft. Meade, MD, or Ogden, UT for on-site support as required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with the ServiceNow application
  • Experience or familiarity with Agile development
  • Exposure to ServiceNow applications like Telecommunication Management System (TSM), Telecommunications Network Inventory (TNI), Telecommunications Service Operations management Order Management (TSOM), Order Management Telecommunications (OMT) modules, etc.
  • Bachelor s / Master s degree in a technical field such as System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline
  • Experience working with large software systems including hardware integration and test
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary technical development teams
  • Experience moving from a legacy application to a new application.
