Project Manager/Scrum Master

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Project Manager with Scrum Master expertise to lead data management and analytics projects in an Agile environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data governance, ETL processes, cloud data platforms, and Agile methodologies. They will be responsible for managing data-driven initiatives, ensuring smooth execution, and driving Agile best practices across teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Project & Agile Management:

• Oversee end-to-end data management projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to business goals.
• Act as a Scrum Master, facilitating Agile ceremonies like Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives.
• Manage project scope, budget, risks, and deliverables using Agile and Waterfall methodologies as needed.
• Implement Agile best practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement within data teams.
• Work with cross-functional teams (data engineers, analysts, architects, and stakeholders) to drive project success.
• Ensure proper backlog management, prioritizing user stories, epics, and tasks based on business objectives.
• Track project progress using tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, Confluence, or Rally.

Data Management & Governance:

• Oversee data warehousing, ETL pipeline development, and cloud-based data solutions.
• Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy standards (GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA, etc.).
• Collaborate with data engineers and data architects to define and implement best practices for data integration, migration, and transformation.
• Support DataOps by automating data pipeline workflows and improving deployment cycles.
• Lead initiatives related to metadata management, master data management (MDM), and data lineage tracking.

Stakeholder & Risk Management:

• Serve as the primary point of contact between technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and dependencies to ensure smooth execution.
• Provide status updates, reports, and presentations to leadership and key stakeholders.
• Manage relationships with external vendors and consultants supporting data initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in project management, with at least 3+ years as a Scrum Master in data-driven projects.
• Strong knowledge of data management principles, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) for data storage, processing, and analytics.
• Proficiency in Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban) and traditional Waterfall project management.
• Hands-on experience with JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or other Agile tools.
• Excellent stakeholder management, leadership, and communication skills.
• Strong understanding of SQL, NoSQL databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL), and Big Data technologies.
• Certifications (preferred but not required):
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe Scrum Master (SSM)
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Data Analytics certification
