Key Responsibilities:

  • Manual Testing: Perform detailed manual testing on web and mobile applications, ensuring that the product meets both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • API Testing: Perform manual testing on APIs to verify that they function as expected. This includes testing RESTful and SOAP APIs using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or Swagger.
  • Test Case Development: Design and create test cases based on project requirements, user stories, and use cases, ensuring complete test coverage.
  • Defect Reporting: Identify, log, and track defects in defect tracking systems such as Jira or Bugzilla, and work with the development team to ensure timely resolution.
  • Regression Testing: Conduct regression testing to ensure that new changes or features do not negatively impact existing functionality.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with developers and business analysts to understand requirements, clarify use cases, and assist in identifying potential risks or areas of improvement.
  • Test Documentation: Document test results and provide detailed feedback on test execution, highlighting any issues or improvements needed.
  • Test Environment Setup: Ensure the correct test environment and data are set up for manual and API testing.
  • Test Reporting: Report testing progress, including metrics on defects, test case execution, and overall testing status.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively contribute to the improvement of testing processes and tools, ensuring that best practices are followed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (X years) as a Manual Tester, with a focus on API testing.
  • Hands-on experience with API Testing tools like Postman, SoapUI, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of manual testing techniques and methodologies.
  • Experience with various types of testing including functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful API and SOAP API concepts and testing.
  • Experience with bug tracking and test management tools such as Jira, Bugzilla, or TestRail.
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to identify and document software defects clearly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Automation Tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit) is a plus but not required.
  • Familiarity with testing tools such as Swagger or Postman for API testing.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL for database testing and validation.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and integration.
  • Experience with performance testing and load testing of APIs is a plus.
  • ISTQB or other relevant testing certifications are an advantage.
