What To Expect
Tesla Test and Automation Team is looking for a Test Engineer who would be responsible for designing and developing test hardware, software, and technical processes. This role will work in cross-functional environments with the electronics design teams, firmware and integration teams, and manufacturing teams to come up with sophisticated automatic functional to support high-volume electronics manufacturing.
What You'll Do
Design, develop, and automate test plans and hardware for use in production at in-house or CM manufacturing lines Design for Testability - Provide early and ongoing manufacturing involvement to ensure new products are being tested logically and efficiently -- incorporating FMEA Conduct failure/data analysis to provide feedback to electronics design team, firmware/software integration teams, and manufacturing teams for product and process improvements Test Process – Work closely with our TPM team to design and develops technical test processes to improve quality and efficiency. Use statistical tools (such as GR&R, SPC, and Cp/Cpk) to ensure processes/fixtures are scalable and are continuing to perform accurately once qualified demonstrating integration with factory data systems and shop floor systems
What You'll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in in Computer/Electronics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience 1+ year or relevant work experience in any assembly, inspection, test station design, test development, maintenance, and automation equipment Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally in a global environment Hands-on knowledge & technical capability in tester design & qualifications, troubleshooting, limit setting, and process buy-offs Knowledgeable in crafting tester qualification requirements including calibration, correlation, capability, repeatability and reproducibility, design of experiments, and failure analysis Project management and supplier management experience Proficient in statistical analysis and skilled in using relevant tools for data analysis Be able to learn new software and AI capabilities. Find opportunities to apply these new capabilities to improve the factory Test processes and tools Solid understanding of HW/SW architecture and interoperability of a sophisticated system. Fundamental EE knowledge is a must-have
