Our client is a Boston-based biotechnology. They are currently looking to add an Indirect Procurement Consultant to their team.

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Indirect Procurement Consultant with comprehensive expertise. This role will collaborate closely with Business Partners to understand their priorities and needs, translating them into strategic initiatives that drive business success.

Responsibilities Of The Indirect Procurement Consultant

  • Leverage extensive Business Services Procurement experience to develop and implement sourcing strategies across Indirect Categories, ensuring strategic supplier relationships and performance management.
  • Drive the creation and execution of sourcing strategies, optimizing supplier selection and cost efficiencies.
  • Conduct market research to inform category strategies and sourcing activities, filtering data into actionable insights.
  • Oversee the Supplier Performance and Relationship Management process, including facilitation of Executive Business Reviews.
  • Partner with Business owners to identify and mitigate risks throughout the sourcing process, coordinating with risk subject matter experts to develop effective risk management plans.
  • Lead complex contract negotiations, collaborating with internal stakeholders such as Business Partners, Finance, and Legal to secure favorable terms and drive business objectives.

Required Experience/Skills for the Indirect Procurement Consultant:

  • Strong understanding of regulated environments and their unique complexities.
  • AI-driven mindset, with a passion for leveraging AI opportunities to drive innovation in Services.
  • Proactive and adaptable, thriving in ambiguity while developing creative, solution-oriented strategies.
  • Solid grasp of risk management, including processes, tools, and rating methodologies.
  • Proven expertise in complex supplier negotiations, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder priorities.
  • Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, persuasive insights.
  • Skilled in fostering collaborative relationships and earning trust and respect to drive business success.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Indirect Procurement Consultant:

  • Life sciences industry experience.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • An advanced degree (MS or MBA) in a Scientific or Business discipline is preferred.
