Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care Delivery:
- Provide nursing care to mothers and newborns, ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care.
- Monitor and assess maternal and infant health, including vital signs, lactation support, and post-partum recovery.
- Assist with IV insertion, blood draws, and PCA pumps for pain management.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work collaboratively with healthcare teams, including physicians, lactation consultants, and pediatric staff.
- Provide patient education on newborn care, breastfeeding, and post-partum recovery.
- Safety & Efficiency:
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for mothers and babies while adhering to hospital policies and guidelines.
- Perform wound care, including managing wound vacs as necessary, and assist in the healing process.
- Documentation:
- Accurately document patient care and outcomes in the EPIC charting system.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience.
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- STABLE
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Diploma or Associate’s degree in Nursing.
- IV insertion
- Blood draws
- PCA pump management
- Wound vac management
Work Experience:
- Experience in Mother-Baby or Postpartum care is a plus, but not required.
- Additional certifications related to maternity or neonatal care (e.g., Certified Lactation Consultant) are desirable.
- Certification in Maternal-Newborn Nursing (e.g., RNC-MNN) is a plus.
Education and Experience:
- Diploma or Associate’s degree in Nursing.
- Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience.
- Experience in a Mother-Baby or postpartum care setting.
