Responsibilities

  • Must be knowledgeable in anatomy and physiology
  • Ensures shift operations to include but not limited to: coverage of EMS calls, coverage of absent team members, and daily EMS activities.
  • Must show proficiency with pharmacology
  • Maintains EMS supplies and equipment in readiness
  • Must comply with all rules and regulations pertaining to EMS job functions
  • Must have acceptable oral and written communication skills
  • Shows ability to work with other allied Health care providers
  • Follows directions of Emergency Room Physicians
  • Is able to work under direction of Emergency Room Charge Nurse while inside the hospital
  • Works under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Operates emergency vehicles safely
  • Shows professionalism at all times
  • Shows proficiency while performing public relations activities

Qualifications

Experience:

Acquires CEU’s as per certification level

Degrees, Licensure And/or Certification

Must have valid Class D drivers license

Must provide evidence of recertification of EMT certification bi-annually

BLS certified

ACLS certified

Must have a copy of a diploma or offical transcript of the highest level of education

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Demonstrates professional growth through independent study

Demonstrates attendance at continuing education offerings EMS related

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

May require successful completion of a physical abilities test.
