Financial Controller

The ideal candidate will assist the executive team with financial-related tasks and reporting as well as support operational managers with financial information and be a strategic member of the management team. The ideal candidate embraces finding solutions to complex problems, guides financial decisions, monitors and enforces policies and procedures, actively manages the financial well-being of the company and supports and develops the accounting team. Being a self-starting, highly detailed professional who practices discretion in all company matters is a must. The right person can handle shifting priorities and meet corporate and business unit deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Manage all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of business unit results including intercompany transactions
- Perform and supervise month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Prepare accurate and consistent internal and external financial statements and reporting
- Support the annual external review process
- Oversee and assist in compliance related matters (multi-state sales tax, nexus)
- Budget, forecast and manage cash
- Provide management with timely information for business decisions
- FInancial Analysis
- Establish, maintain and enforce internal control procedures and company policies
- Interface with management in various departments in a professional manner
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required, master’s degree preferred
- Strong technical and financial accounting background
- At least three years of relevant higher-level accounting experience required, public accounting experience a plus
- Supervisory experience
- Strong Excel experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Effectively work with all levels of the company, team player yet can work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Quickbooks a plus
- Experience in the construction industry a plus
