- Storm Damage Assessment: After major storms, the caretaker will inspect all property for damage and will report any damage to the Facilities Director or designate.
- Facilities Maintenance: Clean out gutters and ditches. Mow grass. Ensure gas tanks are not running close to empty. Ensure all buildings with water are being kept warm enough to prevent freezing.
- Vehicle Maintenance: As needed, take vehicles into town for state inspections. Start all basecamp vehicles monthly to ensure battery life and inspect for any damage or needed maintenance (flat tire, tree limbs, etc.). May drive vehicles to town if running errands as part of the caretaker position (NCOBS checked-off school drivers only).
- Facilities Repair: If necessary, the caretaker will assist (open gates, turn on power, etc) subcontractors (e.g., roofers, electricians, carpenters, gas) to complete repairs.
- Maintain Contact with Facilities Director: The Caretaker and Facilities Director or designate will correspond via e-mail once every month with a brief update on the status of basecamp.
