Key Responsibilities

  • Record Financial Transactions: Process daily financial transactions, including patient billing, payments, and vendor invoices.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Ensure that all accounts are accurately maintained, and discrepancies are promptly resolved.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections, and providing reports on outstanding balances.
  • Reconciliations: Perform monthly and quarterly bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and other account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all financial records are in compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and healthcare-specific accounting standards.
  • Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Audit Preparation: Assist with year-end audits and provide necessary documentation to external auditors.
  • System Management: Manage and maintain accounting software and systems, ensuring data is accurately entered and up-to-date.
  • Tax Preparation Support: Assist in preparing tax documents and filings in coordination with tax professionals.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role, preferably in a healthcare or medical practice environment.
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with various departments and team members.
  • Knowledge of healthcare billing practices and regulations is a plus.
