- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections, and providing reports on outstanding balances.
- Reconciliations: Perform monthly and quarterly bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and other account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Compliance: Ensure that all financial records are in compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and healthcare-specific accounting standards.
- Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Audit Preparation: Assist with year-end audits and provide necessary documentation to external auditors.
- System Management: Manage and maintain accounting software and systems, ensuring data is accurately entered and up-to-date.
- Tax Preparation Support: Assist in preparing tax documents and filings in coordination with tax professionals.
- Customer Service: Address any billing or financial inquiries from patients and vendors promptly and professionally.
- Ad-hoc Financial Tasks: Assist in any additional financial tasks or projects as needed.
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role, preferably in a healthcare or medical practice environment.
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with various departments and team members.
- Knowledge of healthcare billing practices and regulations is a plus.
- Experience with payroll processing and tax filing is highly desirable.
