Essex Industries, Huntington Beach is seeking an experienced Lathe & Mill Machinist with a minimum of 5 years' experience machining tight tolerance, aerospace or medical components.
Applicant Must Have The Ability To Interpret Drawings And Blueprints And Perform Intermediate To Advanced Operation Of Manual Lathes & Mills Including
Ability to Manufacture parts from blueprints via manual Lathe's and Mill's, Turning/Drilling/Boring/grooving/polishing/ small parts on the Lathe, R&D prototypes, Setting the head squareness, setting up vises, positioning the workpiece, drilling and reaming, milling (climb and conventional), drilling angled holes and edges.
This role will work on both standard production parts and rework/modifications as required.

Job Responsibilities
- Primarily operate Manual Lathes & Bridgeport Manual Mills
- Ability to use measuring devices to verify part conformance
- Develop setups and processes to meet customer specifications
- Track tooling usage and inventory. Provide tooling needs as the job requires.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery
- Maintain production logs (Work Orders, Inspection Logs, Part Counts, etc.)
Education and/or Experience
- High School or GED
Skills
- Experience operating Manual Lathes & Mills or similar (5 years preferred)
- Familiarity with machine tools and equipment
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Positive attitude and communication skills
- Understanding of GD&T preferred
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
