We are seeking a Accounting Clerk for the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami Beach, FL.

Principal Function

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for supporting the financial operations of Sodexo Live! at the Miami Beach Convention Center. This role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records related to food service operations, including concessions, catering, premium dining, and retail. The Accounting Clerk will assist in processing daily sales reports, reconciling transactions, handling accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with company accounting policies. This position plays a vital role in maintaining financial accuracy and efficiency within a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality environment.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Process and verify daily sales reports for all food and beverage revenue streams.
  • Reconcile cash, credit card, and other payment transactions from concessions, catering, premium, and retail.
  • Assist with accounts payable by reviewing invoices, coding expenses, and processing payments.
  • Support accounts receivable by preparing invoices and following up on outstanding balances.
  • Maintain financial records and ensure data accuracy within accounting systems.
  • Assist with inventory reconciliation and cost control reporting.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports as needed.
  • Collaborate with operations and finance teams to ensure smooth financial processing.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.
  • Perform other related accounting tasks as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in hospitality or food service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash handling procedures is a plus.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and event days as needed.

Other Requirements

  • Able to work effectively and safely while subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight; must be able to maneuver in an often tightly-quartered environment.

Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
