The electrical controls engineer is responsible for developing control systems for robotic and automation equipment including control panel design and software development. The engineer will be required to create control panel fabrication and assembly data packages including: hardware selection, electrical schematics, panel layouts, field wiring diagrams, and network layouts. Working with the team, the engineer will develop control software that will execute system functionality. The electrical controls engineer will remain involved throughout the project to provide support on technical issues, scope management, system commissioning/ start–up, troubleshooting and testing.

Essential Functions:

Responsible for the electrical design of control panels for projects.
Develop the “Human Machine Interface” (HMI) using commercially available platforms such as Rockwell (Panel View) and other platforms.
Develop and implement machine control software based on the Rockwell controls platform and others.
Participate in commissioning of complex automation systems.
Develop detailed documentation.
Develop and maintain a working knowledge of customers’ operations and specifications.
Communicate and collaborate to ensure all aspects of project goals are achieved.
Intermediate / Advanced level experience with Microsoft Office Applications
Camera Vision experience is a plus
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
2-5 years’ experience minimum within an industrial environment.
Experience with Robot Programming (ABB, Fanuc, UR, etc.)
Experience with servo motors and motion control
Experience with AutoCAD and Solidworks Electrical.
Proficient in Rockwell Automation industrial products and software.
Experience with troubleshooting automation control systems.
Familiar with industrial standards such as UL, ANSI/RIA, CE, etc.
