Getty Marrow Communications Internship

The Getty Marrow Communications Intern will work under the supervision of the LACMA communications team in two parts: to amplify the museum's collection and exhibitions by creating engaging, approachable, longer-form written content on the Unframed blog, as well as researching and pitching short form digital content ideas for Tiktok. In addition to various forms of content creation, the intern will gain experience in editorial tasks relevant to the daily running of the museum's communications department, and collaborate with multiple departments at the museum including editorial, publications, graphic design, rights and reproductions, and curatorial teams.

This is a paid 10-week full-time internship (40 hrs/wk) beginning in June 2025 with a working schedule of Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm at $17.28/hour.

Qualifications

  • The intern should demonstrate experience or interest in arts and culture, museums or non-profits, writing and editing, communications, and/or media and press.
  • The intern should be a competent writer. They should also understand the basic inner workings of TikTok, and show a curiosity around performance analytics, cultural trends, and a multidisciplinary collaborative approach.
  • Be currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate in either a bachelor's degree program or an associate's degree program. Students must have completed at least one semester or two quarters of college by June. Students who graduated the semester or quarter immediately before the internship begins are also eligible. (Students who are enrolled in a second BA or BS program are not eligible.)
  • Be a United States citizen, permanent resident, or DACA status through the internship period.
