Accounting Manger
JOB SUMMARY:
Directs the financial operations of the club.
• Supervises the accounting functions and directly assist the General Manager on all strategic matters relating to budget management, cost-benefit analysis, forecasting needs and internal control.
• Develops policies to control and coordinate accounting, auditing, budgets, taxes and related activities and records; develop, establish and administer procedures and systems pertaining to financial matters.
• Prepares financial statements, forecasts and analyses for all administrative and managerial functions.
• Works with and supports the Finance Committee with the annual report, annual budget process, monthly reporting, capital management, cash flow forecasts and ad-hoc reporting.
• Oversees monthly Member billing, addresses Member requests and directs Member accounting.
• Manages Accounts payable; coding, entering invoices into Jonas, prepares check runs, reviews invoices coded by other department managers, follow up with vendors for missing invoices.
• Processes bi-weekly payroll through Paycor; sends onboarding for new hires, adds/terminates employees from Paycor as needed.
• Maintains all accounting records; develop, analyze and interpret statistical and accounting information.
• Manages and tracks all permits and licenses required to operate
• Oversees the Jonas POS system and I/T operations for the club
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university with accounting major or minor and coursework in financial analysis and auditing.
• Five plus years of professional accounting experience with at least two of those years at the Controller level or equivalent in a private club operation.
• Experience working with a Point of Sale system
• Experience and Information Technology operations.
• Strong communication skills with individuals and groups.
• High level of drive and energy.
• Record of accomplishment in prior comparable positions.
