Under the general supervision of the Paint/Glass Foreman, the Painter paints and maintains facilities and fixtures throughout the district.

Classified job is announced to all qualified applicants. Open until filled. 8 hours per day/257 days per year/Salary Grade 11 $23.59 per hour (Support Salary Table 2024-2025) [Promotions result in a 5% minimum increase] General Function: Under the general supervision of the Paint/Glass Foreman, the Painter paints and maintains facilities and fixtures throughout the district. General Function: Under the general supervision of the Paint/Glass Foreman, the Painter/Glazier paints and maintains windows in facilities and fixtures throughout the district. Minimum Requirements: 1. High School diploma or equivalent. 2. Completion of formal apprenticeship preferred. 3. Four (4) years of experience related to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 4. Driver's license. 5. Journeyman certificate preferred. 6. Glazing experience preferred. Knowledge & Ability: 1. Ability to read and write and perform basic mathematical calculations. 2. Knowledge of all types of paints and stains. 3. Knowledge of painting and staining methods and applications. 4. Ability to tint and match paints and stains. 5. Knowledge of asbestos removal procedures. 6. Knowledge of general safety procedures (including use of air-supplied respirator). 7. Knowledge of material safety data sheets (MSDS) preferred. 8. Ability to use small office equipment and computers. 9. Ability to use small, medium and heavy equipment and machinery. 10. Ability to maintain inventory and property. 11. Ability to make budget recommendations. 12. Experience replacing and maintaining window coverings. 13. Knowledge of commercial window replacement.
