
Engineering Technician II - Product Engineering Support (LH)
Job Title: Engineering Technician II
Location: Morrisville, NC
Duration: 12 + Months Contract/Temp with the possibility of extension
Shift Details: 1st Shift
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technician II to work alongside our design and test engineers. This position will be responsible for building test fixtures, debugging circuitry, setting up tests, performing equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting electronic assemblies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics, mechanical work, and hands-on experience with diagnostic equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up Dynamometers for electric motor and/or inverter testing
Inspect and maintain electronic assemblies to determine causes of defects
Rework electronic products to company and industry standards
Build test harnesses and loads to support product testing
Document and maintain detailed records of work performed
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
Design and build engineering test fixtures
Perform general maintenance on equipment as required
Assist with other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager
Required Education & Experience:
Education: A.S. in Electronics, two-year technical diploma, military certification, or equivalent experience
Experience: At least 1 year of related experience in electronics, manufacturing, or mechanical fields; 3+ years preferred
Required Skills & Abilities:
Strong working knowledge of diagnostic equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.)
Experience troubleshooting and identifying root causes of electronic issues
Ability to read and interpret engineering documents (schematics, diagrams)
Skilled in assembling and disassembling products
Ability to perform mechanical work and maintain lab equipment
Strong documentation and record-keeping abilities
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
Metatarsal boots required on the first day
Successful candidates will be required to pass a drug screen
Preferred Skills:
Soldering experience
Strong mechanical aptitude
Familiarity with manufacturing processes and electronic components
Experience in 3D printing, electronics repair, electric motor repair, automotive repair, robotics, automation, HVAC, or similar fields is a plus
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, move, or carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
Ability to work in an industrial or manufacturing environment
