Responsibilities
- Provide Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and data analysis for Electro Optical (EO) and Infrared (IR) cutting-edge technologies
- Use data analysis and/or software tools to generate scientific results to support R&D programmatic decisions
- Provide analytical/modeling subject matter expertise advisement to senior engineers, program managers, and senior leaders to help drive sound technological decisions
- Analyze end user requirements and provide recommendations based on scientific results and developmental risks
- Evaluate proposed projects for feasibility and applicability to relevant miliary mission areas
- Participate in strategic planning and development of systems architectures as well as recommend requirements for new projects
- Identify and recommend alternative or new Research and Development (R&D) strategies
- Generate documents, briefings, roadmaps, and planning materials to support the customer mission
- Work closely with program managers, lead project engineers, and program teams
Qualifications Required:
- Active DoD Secret Clearance with ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
- 8-10 years' experience with M&S and data analysis, MATLAB, and Python, image and signal processing
- 8-10 years’ technology development experience with EO, lasers, and/or IR systems
- Experience with EO sensors, IR Search and Track (IRST) systems, Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR), laser optics, image processing, signal processing, and statistics
- Strong EO/IR data analysis and performance modeling computing skills
- MATLAB and/or Python expertise is required
- Proficient knowledge of software development and/or software maintenance
- Experience processing image/signal data and a working knowledge on data-basing, data storage, and data archiving
- Sufficient EO/IR experience to produce trusted results and communicate recommendations to the customer
- Ability to develop and present analysis results briefings to senior leadership
- Experience in generating requirements analysis and definitions at the mission and systems engineering levels
- Must work well within a team environment to identify and apply best practices
- Strong skills in documenting inputs, outputs, and requirements
- Experience working with U.S. Air Force customers
- Experience developing high-level project/work plans
- Familiarity with EO modeling tools such as MODTRAN, LEEDR, and DIRSIG
- Clear and effective oral and written communications skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related technical field. A Master's degree in a similar field is highly desired.
