Information Technology Technician
About Us:
Syracuse Technologies is a fast-growing Managed Services Provider (MSP) delivering high-quality IT solutions to businesses across Central New York. Our team is passionate about technology and dedicated to helping clients get the most from their systems, networks, and infrastructure. We take pride in our ability to adapt, solve problems, and build strong relationships with the businesses we support.
Position Overview:
As a Business Technology Specialist, you’ll serve as a trusted, hands-on technical resource for our clients. Whether you're just starting your IT career or already bring real-world experience, this role offers the chance to grow your skills across a wide range of technologies in a supportive, team-based environment.
You’ll provide both remote and onsite support, troubleshoot issues, perform routine maintenance, and assist with IT implementations. Our clients rely on us to be proactive, knowledgeable, and approachable — and you’ll be an essential part of delivering that experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first- and second-level technical support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other business technologies.
- Support day-to-day client environments, including Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and commonly used business applications.
- Perform new workstation setups, software deployments, and basic infrastructure tasks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues, escalating when needed.
- Conduct regular onsite visits to assigned clients for scheduled support, preventative maintenance, and relationship building.
- Document technical work clearly in tickets and internal systems.
- Provide basic support for audio-visual systems, such as conference room technology and digital signage.
What We're Looking For: We’re open to candidates with a range of experience levels. Whether you're just beginning your IT career or looking to take the next step, we value the following qualities:
- A passion for technology and a willingness to learn.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- A friendly, professional demeanor and a desire to provide excellent customer service.
- The ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple priorities.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (onsite work is required).
Preferred (but not required):
- 1+ years of hands-on IT support experience (MSP experience is a plus).
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Windows desktop environments, and basic networking.
- Experience using RMM or ticketing systems.
- Any certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, etc.) are a bonus — but not required if you’re eager to learn.
Career Growth & Learning Path:
This role is designed to grow with you. You’ll receive mentorship and guidance from senior team members, gain exposure to increasingly complex systems and projects, and have access to training and certification opportunities. As your skills and confidence grow, you’ll take on more responsibility, work on higher-level tasks, and have a clear path for advancement within the company.
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
- A supportive, team-oriented work environment.
- Opportunities to work with a wide range of clients, industries, and technologies.
- Ongoing training and professional development.
- A chance to make a real impact — both with our clients and within our growing company.
Syracuse Technologies is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and experiences.
