Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Parks and Recreation, Business or Public Administration, or a related field
- Five years of Parks and Recreation, Municipal or program/project management experience
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License
Under basic supervision, manages a division of the Parks and Recreation department. Directs staff, leads division planning and asset management, oversees projects, manages division development and inventory, creates financial strategies for departmental development and improvement, and manages relations with governmental agencies.
Essential Functions
- Oversees aquatics personnel and operations; directs recreation staff, community facilities and sports venue operations; manages childcare operations and ensures standard compliance; promotes and manages recreation programs; evaluates community needs and develops new recreation programs, and program enhancements to meet the needs of the community.
- Assures safety protocol and procedures of recreational facilities, program participants, and childcare operations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- Supports the relationship between the City of Waco and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with residents, visitors, and City staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and City information.
