Summary: Under the supervision of the RRS Associate Senior Director, the Refugee Generalist is responsible for ensuring the TXOR program abides by the Federal grant policy guidelines and ensures delivery of services to the target client population. The Refugee Generalist will directly determine client eligibility and program orientation of eligible clients. And, the generalist will ensure that services are provided in a planned, effective and timely manner to eligible clients, that the services are appropriate to meet the needs of the refugees and will contribute to the early employment and self-sufficiency of participating refugees.

Position Responsibilities

  • *Coordinate program client referrals coming; acknowledge receipt of referral and place referral document (or copy of referral email) into client electronic folder.
  • *Assist with scheduling program enrollments of referred clients.
  • *Collect daily service counts to include eligible/and non-eligible enrollment requests/inquiries from walk-ins; include nationality/status in the counts; collect weekly counts of enrollments, orientations, and provide daily and weekly service counts to RRS Associate Director and Senior Director in an email report by end of work week.
  • *Assist with completing TXOR reports, client numbers and outcomes, the ORR quarterly report and other program reports as needed/requested.
  • Ensures that eligibility for the TXOR programs are followed and documented as required.
  • Provides TXOR program orientation to qualifying clients.
  • Responsible for entering clients into to the TXOR Clients Track Database.
  • Responsible for entering client data into the internal spread sheet for tracking all enrolled TXOR clients.
  • Ensures that proper referrals are made to appropriate external service programs.
  • Provides direct service support and referrals as needed, and works together with other staff members to ensure clients receive benefits according to their service plans.
  • Reviews and maintains accurate and up-to-date client files, including: intake, assessments, filing and other required paperwork.
  • Reports on activities and special client concerns to the RRS Associate Senior Director and other staff during required staff meetings or as needed.
  • Completes weekly schedule, bi-weekly time sheets and monthly mileage, etc.
  • Ensures effective communication with program staff, peers and agency leadership.
  • Ensures services are delivered in accordance with agency culture, mission, vision, and values.
  • Must be sensitive to the service population’s cultural socioeconomic characteristics.
  • Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis and taking precautionary Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
  • Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
  • Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral is mandatory.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education

Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required; or equivalent of 2 – 4 years’ experience in a social service environment that demonstrates a sensitivity and appreciation for diverse cultural populations.

  • Bilingual skills in a common client language are preferred but no required.
  • License and Credentials
    • Reliable transportation
    • Valid driver license; Valid vehicle insurance
Requirements

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of State and Federal Contracts and Grants.
  • Knowledge of Program Manuals and Operational Guidelines.
  • Knowledge of client files documentation and record keeping.
  • Skilled in using personal computer, various software, email and internet.
  • Must have clean driving record.
  • A solid grasp of file documentation and record keeping
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team.
  • Must have good written and verbal skills.
