A market-leading rail operator is looking for a Vice President of Rail Operations to join their senior leadership team in Greater Boston. This role sits at the heart of a commuter network serving over 80,000 daily riders and plays a critical role in shaping the future of passenger experience, operational performance, and workforce capability.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading the delivery of safe, reliable, and customer-centric services.
- Driving & delivering continuous improvement across service planning, operational efficiency, and customer experience.
- Contributing to the future of sustainable rail.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations, focusing on efficiency, reliability, and safety.
- Direct workforce management strategies, including planning, recruitment, and leadership development.
- Design and implement customer service strategies that enhance the passenger experience.
- Champion safety culture and ensure regulatory compliance.
Skills & Experience Required
- 7+ years in a senior leadership role within large-scale passenger rail operations.
- Demonstrated success managing high-volume, complex service environments.
- Experience with performance transformation, project leadership, and crisis management.
- Deep commitment to safety, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.
- Exceptional interpersonal and team development skills.
- Strategic mindset paired with hands-on execution capability.
Location: Based in Boston, MA with a hybrid work model (typically 3 days in office, 2 remote).
VP of Rail Operations Compensation: Basic salary: $230,000 – $250,000 base + up to 20% performance bonus and excellent benefits package (including relocation package if required).
