- High School diploma or High School Equivalency Certificate, experience working with youth preferred.
- Must obtain First Aid Certification within six months of employment.
- Must hold a valid Texas driver license and liability insurance coverage.
- Driving record must reflect acceptable rating by Ellis County to operate a county vehicle.
- Provides safe and prompt transportation of juvenile probation clients to medical appointments, court, other designated placement facilities or detention facilities, and airports.
- Ability to restrain youth when deem necessary.
- Performs all duties in compliance with department safety policies and procedures.
- Performs vehicle inspection prior to use, maintains transportation logs as required, coordinates maintenance service on vehicles as required.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates, peers and supervisors.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and in making decisions.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Serves as back-up to staff and assumes all duties as necessary, i.e., processing intake assessments or discharges.
- Regular and consistent attendance is required
- Other duties as assigned
