The Technical Sales Engineer, Product Applications will play a key customer-facing role, partnering with Sales Representatives and clients to deliver tailored product and pricing solutions. You will provide expert guidance on plan, spec, design, and build opportunities, helping Sales Representatives align customer needs with the right offerings. Working alongside a collaborative team of creative engineers, the Technical Sales Engineer combines strong mechanical aptitude with exceptional communication skills to drive results. The role also involves managing projects and working closely with the shop to develop new designs, refine processes, and enhance existing products.
What You Bring to the Role. (Ideal Experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or mechanical engineering or comparable.
  • 3 years in manufacturing industry or HVAC industry is desirable, as a Project Manager, Sales Representative, or in a customer-facing role.
  • Extensive understanding of mechanical processes and cost estimating.
  • Expert at consultative customer engagement.
  • Seeks to understand the voice of the customer.
  • Proficient at time management, planning, prioritization and multitasking.
  • Serves as an effective brand ambassador.
  • Collaborate effectively with the Layout, Operations and Marketing teams.
  • Possesses an appetite for learning and understanding products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications.
  • Mechanically inclined aptitude, engineer savvy is highly ideal.
  • Ability to serve as a strong teammate, ready to support Sales in direct service to customers.
  • Possess a high degree of creativity to define innovative and practical solutions that solve customer needs.

What You'll Do. (Skills Used in this Position)

  • Deliver front-line advisory and support to customers.
    • Provide consultation to the organization's network of sales rep firms in order to ensure the proper product selection based on the supplied plans and specifications.
    • Provide technical support to architects and engineers based on the supplied performance data for products and requirements.
    • Establish and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of products and competitors' products.
    • Partner closely with a rep firm to jointly manage multiple quotes and orders for a large building project.
    • Conduct outreach to rep firms in order to capture feedback on open quotes for the organization's products.
  • Drive continuous improvement.
    • Evaluate the organization and competitors' products for performance, quality, and sustainability.
  • Product development.
    • Support Technical Sales on its development of new products and product enhancements based on market opportunities and requirements.
    • Provide support in the development and upkeep of various product line technical information.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by manager.

Compensation Information
The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
