CDW is seeking an IT Hardware Support Technician to support our initiative to replace outdated devices (laptops/desktops) and provision new computers for employees. This role will be primarily responsible for troubleshooting failing devices, confirming warranty dates, imaging devices, replacing old devices, provisioning new devices for onboarding employees, and managing inventory, including the retrieval and recycling of old assets.

CDW is seeking an IT Hardware Support Technician to support our initiative to replace outdated devices (laptops/desktops) and provision new computers for employees. This role will be primarily responsible for troubleshooting failing devices, confirming warranty dates, imaging devices, replacing old devices, provisioning new devices for onboarding employees, and managing inventory, including the retrieval and recycling of old assets.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a primary support point for hardware requests and issues from our facilities.
- Respond to incoming support requests (email, chat, phone, or in person), accurately diagnose issues, prioritize, resolve/escalate tickets within established SLA standards.
- Troubleshoot failing devices and confirm warranty dates.
- Perform escalations to vendors or internal departments as necessary and work with the other party to resolve issues to the end user's satisfaction.
- Provision and set up new devices for employee onboarding.
- Replace aging devices for existing employees and ensure a seamless transition to new equipment.
- Manage IT inventory, including the retrieval of old assets and ensure proper recycling.
- Maintain accurate records of all inventory and device replacements.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures regarding asset management and data security.
- Collaborate with the IT support team to streamline processes and continuously improve service delivery.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in technical support.
- Experience with Autopilot/Intune deployment or similar tools for configuring, testing, and deploying devices.
- Familiarity with O365 and standard software suites.
- Understanding of Active Directory (group policy management, Sites/Services, Users/Groups).
- Strong troubleshooting skills with hardware devices.
- Highly self-motivated with attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Strong work ethic, responsible behavior, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality of information.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and contribute to a positive work environment.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of Microsoft SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager), JAMF, or other endpoint management tools.
- Experience with ServiceNow or other ITSM software.
- Experience in managing IT inventory and asset management processes.
- Familiarity with project management, change management, and basic ITIL principles.
