PAINTER/SANDBLASTER II-Magnolia
The Painter/Blaster is responsible for preparing and coating various surfaces of equipment used in oil field operations to ensure the highest quality and durability. This role involves the application of protective coatings and the operation of abrasive blasting equipment to remove rust, scale, contaminants, and previous coatings.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of tools and equipment within a MFG facility which produces large, industrial Oil & Gas drilling equipment.
- Mask and cover components not to be painted or blasted.
- Perform abrasive blasting (sandblasting) on metal surfaces to remove scale, rust, contaminants, and previous coatings as directed per established specifications.
- Mix and prepare paints and coatings according to manufacturer specifications and job requirements.
- Inspect surfaces before and after painting to ensure proper surface preparation and coating application.
- Apply industrial-grade primers, paints, and coatings using spray equipment guns, and other appropriate tools.
- Operate, clean, and maintain painting and blasting equipment in good working condition.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment utilizing Lean Manufacturing (5S) principles.
- Measures thickness of paint applied to objects and completes inspection forms as required.
- Work overtime and/or weekend as required.
- Other duties may be assigned by Team Leader or Manager.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
