
CASHIER-CHECKER (FOOD SERVICE WORKER)
Sells a variety of merchandise items such as prepackaged snacks, products, etc. Operates cash register, rings up the sale, receives money and makes change, processes credit card sale, or charges to member's account. At the end of each tour of duty clears the cash register and turns over cash and supporting documents as instructed. Conducts daily inventories. Maintains area in clean and orderly condition. In a Food Activity: Performs check-out duties such as ringing-up food, beverages and merchandise by individual item; totaling sales; processing credit card sales; receiving money; and making change. ln a Restaurant: Rings up sales on cash register, receives money; and makes change. May perform related food service duties such as assisting in setting up the serving line, replenishing beverage dispensers, ensuring kitchen staff is advised when buffet line needs replenishment. May serve food cafeteria style. May bring ordered meals to waiting customers when ready. May take prepared food and beverage items to designated areas for setup or sale. May assist with setting up dining room tables for service, places food and beverages on tables, and replenishes items as necessary.
Prepares side tables with silverware, bowls of ice and other extras that may be required during the meal. Following completion of meals may assist with removing soiled dishes, glasses and silverware. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience in responsible clerical or office work which includes demonstrated ability to perform common arithmetic problems, and making change when receiving payments from customers is preferred. Knowledge of or experience in the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit or other processing of cash items when this includes (1) direct handling of cash items, and (2) use of cash accountability control methods is desired. Must have ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or Complete food handler's training. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 background investigation.
