Project Engineer

The Project Engineer's role is to be the primary customer and internal technical interface, assisting in the costing phase through engineering release of new products and ongoing support of those products in production via ECO s and other maintenance requirements. Product documentation accuracy is required, including bills of materials, product realization routings, test support, and authorized sign-off off all controlled documents to assure compliance to customer specifications. Support to Quality teams through product testing and validations and ongoing regulatory compliance activities are additional functions of the position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work directly with customers on Product Design and Development through product realization. This often includes conceptual stage support and guiding customers to product design specifications and requirements that are scalable to high-volume production.
- Conduct Design Reviews with internal & external customers depending on the complexity of the product.
- Prepare Engineering Documentation such as the primary product source control drawing, component tooling drawings, circuit designs.
- Prepare bill of materials, product routings and documentation interface pages for production access to necessary product realization documents.
- Provide Purchasing with tooling drawings, materials and component sourcing requirements for first-time purchases, and plan product delivery lead-times accordingly.
- Support and/or conduct prototype builds, and support 1st Article Approval Cycles including IQ/OQ/PQ validation work in concert with Quality and Manufacturing departments.
- Prepare and Document ECR/ECO s
- Assist in optimizing production processes after production release.
- Additional tasks often include compliance reporting of regulations RoHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals and such.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift to 30 pounds at times.
- Occasional travel

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- AutoCAD and/or Pro Engineer design proficiency, PCB/Circuit layout ability in Altium helpful.
- Proven problem-solving and design skills with a highly developed ability to manage multiple projects effectively is a must.
- Effective team and communication skills are an absolute requirement.
- Knowledge of Indented Bills of Materials and Product Routing documentation.
- Experienced with all Windows/Office-based applications to include Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
- 4-Year Degree Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 5 -7 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
