Summary
As the Director, Pharmacy Innovation at Gainwell, you will play a critical role in shaping how our organization leverages predictive and prescriptive insights-including AI, forecasting, machine learning and cognitive insight capabilities-to enhance our product offerings and drive business impact. This role applies deep data science expertise to develop and deploy solutions and services that power some of the most important and innovative state healthcare programs in the country.
Your role in our mission
- Manage a team of data science professionals responsible for AI, forecasting, machine learning and cognitive insights.
- Leverage advanced insights to forecast outcomes and inform strategic decision-making for Medicaid-related initiatives.
- Drive innovation by embedding advanced insights into Pharmacy product suite, ensuring solutions align with evolving market and client needs.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, technical, and commercial teams to translate insight models into scalable, technology-enabled solutions.
- Influence business strategy by identifying opportunities for advanced insights to create competitive advantages.
- Lead the development of AI/ML capabilities for the Pharmacy COE, leveraging emerging technologies and best practices to enhance Gainwell's insight platform.
- Engage with key stakeholders-both internally and externally-to position data science as a core driver of business value.
- Function as a subject matter expert on AI/ML and cognitive analytics.
- Builds and maintains a highly effective team.
- Ensures team has necessary tools and training to perform their duties.
- Manages timely execution of team deliverables.
- Provides and participates in staff development and training needs to encourage top performers.
- Ensures departmental goals are consistently met or exceeded and ensures adequate staffing levels to meet client deliverables.
- Manages assigned staff by facilitating resolution of concerns and employee relations issues and providing ongoing feedback, coaching, guidance, and direction in daily responsibilities for specific projects.
- Manages performance of direct reports in accordance with the Performance Management Process.
What we're looking for
- MS in Mathematics, Biostatistics, Computer Sciences or equivalent experience required.
- 10+ years of experience in healthcare advanced insights, with emphasis on applying predictive and prescriptive techniques to enable innovation.
- Experience working in Medicaid, healthcare technology, and/or pharmacy insights is required.
- Deep expertise in AI/ML methodologies as well as cognitive analytics.
- Proven ability to translate complex analytics concepts to non-technical stakeholders including executives.
- Proven ability to leverage enterprise tools and technology to drive scalable, high-impact solutions.
- Demonstrated leadership experience and abilities.
- Proven experience leveraging enterprise tools to forecast outcomes and develop and deploy AI/ML solutions that power innovation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the healthcare industry including pharmacy benefits management, managed care and Government programs.
- Proven ability to translate complex AI/ML concepts to non-technical stakeholders including executives.
- Proven ability to leverage enterprise tools and technology to drive scalable, high-impact solutions.
- Experience working with healthcare data and data systems (EHRs, claims systems, population health tools) and emerging digital health solutions.
- Proven understanding of relevant healthcare regulations (HIPAA, CMS guidelines and best practices in data privacy and security)
