Overview

Navy Federal seeks an individual with demonstrated ability to achieve results and enhance our quantitative analysis of financial performance. Experience with balance sheet and income statement forecasting systems, particularly QRM, is preferred but not required. The role will be responsible for using various systems, methods, and models to perform financial reporting and analysis. The candidate will support the budget process, explain variances to actual performance, and regularly update Navy Federal's pro forma balance sheet and income statement. Work under moderate supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with business unit partners across the organization to develop and enhance Navy Federal's balance sheet and income statement forecasts
  • Provide support in preparing monthly financial performance reporting and investigating variances to budged to determine explanatory drivers of change
  • Perform impact analysis on behavioral model updates and their effect on forecasted balances and interest income/expense
  • Evaluate "what-if scenario" and cost-benefit analyses for balance sheet management strategies and their impact to financial performance
  • Conduct financial analysis on internal and external market data to discover tradeoffs of competing business objectives such as growth, market share and competitive position
  • Monitoring changes to macroeconomic forecasts and interpreting the effects to the balance sheet and income statement
  • Peer benchmarking financial performance of banks and credit unions to understand the financial landscape
  • Maintain and enhance documentation, procedures, and controls related to balance sheet planning processes and reporting
  • Perform other duties as assigned or appropriate

Qualifications
  • Knowledge of balance sheet and income statement forecasting, with preference towards hands-on experience using QRM
  • Experience in financial forecasting, cost benefit analysis, and cash-flow analysis
  • Advanced Excel and data manipulation skills to solve complex financial problems and streamline reporting (Pivot tables, Index, Match, Sumifs, and dynamic chart building)
  • Ability to link economic relationships to changes in member behavior and business strategy
  • Attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to research, analyze and interpret financial data
  • Knowledge or experience with programs used for storing, analyzing, and visualizing large datasets (SQL, Power BI, Tableau) preferred
  • Understanding and/or experience with Scenario Analysis and Sensitivity Analysis
  • Familiarity with rules, regulations, and trends relevant to the credit union and retail banking industries
  • Experience participating in cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams and projects
  • Persuasive and diplomatic communication, both verbal and written, of facts and conclusions related to complex analytical results and issues

Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in finance, economics, business analytics or related field
  • Advanced degree or professional certification (CFA, FRM) preferred
