- This position reports to the Vice President of Engineering, with a very close working relationship with the lead Project Engineers and Sr. Electrical Engineer(s) and is responsible for translation of design requirements into analog and digital board designs complete with component selection, simulation, schematic capture, layout, documentation, and development and support of test procedures for company's products.
Scope of Responsibilities
- Responsible for the design and validation of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) layouts to meet customer specifications.
- Capable of using signal integrity analysis to ensure proper system integration into the final product, and system level Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI) analysis and testing is successful.
- Experienced in design and implementation of both custom design and COTS components for aerospace applications
- Interface with customers, project managers, and other team members from various disciplines.
- Preparation and review of software & hardware test cases, procedures, and test results in accordance with requirements.
- Travel to customer sites and testing facilities may be required.
Overview
- Seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to expand the existing development team.
- The main duties of this position will be to support electrical system development through the full lifecycle systems design, working closely with the systems and software engineering functions.
Education and Experience
- Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields.
Knowledge, Skills and Job Competencies
Technical
- Experience designing PCB circuits (analog, mixed signal, power supplies, and digital) using OrCAD.
- Experience conducting simulation using LTspice or equivalent.
- Experienced in design and implementation for aerospace applications. Familiarity with various data and power bus architectures. Familiarity with implementation of micro-processors.
- Experience reviewing PCB layouts with PADS or Allegro. PCB layout experience is a plus.
- Familiarization with oscilloscopes, network analyzers, multimeters, and other standard lab equipment to complete board verification tests.
- Experience working in a production environment and implementing Design for Manufacture (DFM).
- Capable of interfacing with in-house manufacturing for production test support and troubleshooting.
- System integration to ensure proper function of integrated boards in the intended platform.
- Emphasis will be on a structured development process to meet DO-178C / DO-254 guidelines
- Experience using modern development, configuration management, problem reporting, and action item tracking tools.
- Software design (VHDL, FPGA, or Micro-processor coding) is a plus.
Leadership / Management
- Ability to work in a team environment with internal staff and customer representatives at various levels.
