Position: Imaging AI Data Science Expert

Contract Duration: -6 Months

Location (Onsite): -San Jose, CA OR Waukesha, WI OR Toronto, Canada

Key Responsibilities

AI Model Development & Optimization:

  • Design, train, and fine-tune imaging AI models using MONAI Core, MONAI Label, and MONAI Deploy.
  • Explore and implement cost-effective algorithms for tasks such as image segmentation, classification, registration, and multimodal data analysis.
  • Leverage pre-trained models from the MONAI Model Zoo and customize them for specific healthcare use cases.

Multimodal Integration:

  • Develop multimodal AI solutions integrating imaging data with textual or structured data using frameworks like MONAI Multi-Modal and VLM-Radiology-Agent-Framework.
  • Utilize advanced techniques such as cross-modal attention to enhance model performance on multimodal datasets.

Healthcare-Specific Applications:

  • Apply imaging AI models to solve real-world healthcare challenges, including radiological diagnosis support, quality checks, segmentation, classification etc.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare standards while handling sensitive medical data.

Performance Optimization:

  • Optimize training pipelines for GPU acceleration using tools like DLProf, Nsight, NVTX, and distributed data-parallel APIs.
  • Benchmark algorithms for efficiency and scalability on cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.

Collaboration & Leadership:

  • Collaborate with clinicians, radiologists, and interdisciplinary teams to define project requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Provide mentorship to junior team members and lead technical discussions on imaging AI advancements.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in machine learning or data science roles with a focus on medical imaging AI.
  • Proven expertise in deploying production-grade imaging AI solutions using MONAI frameworks.
  • Experience in healthcare or medical devices is highly preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Python and deep learning libraries (e.g., PyTorch).
  • Hands-on experience with MONAI Core, MONAI Label, MONAI Deploy, and VLM-Radiology-Agent-Framework.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS SageMaker or Azure ML) for scalable model deployment.

Domain Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of medical imaging modalities (e.g., MRI, CT) and radiological workflows.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and standards is a plus.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on optimizing models for real-world constraints.
