We now have an opening for a Sr. Red Hat Linux Administrator on a long-term opportunity with the potential for a multi-year contract. You will manage and optimize the client’s Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments. This candidate will be responsible for ensuring system stability, security, and performance while supporting a range of enterprise applications. This role requires advanced expertise in Linux administration, automation, troubleshooting, and security best practices.

Job Description:

We are hiring a highly experienced Senior Red Hat Linux Administrator to join our team as a direct W2 employee. This role involves managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems across development, testing, and production environments.

  • Install, configure, and maintain RHEL servers in various environments.
  • Perform system upgrades, patch management, and security hardening.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure uptime and efficiency.
  • Automate system administration tasks using Ansible, Bash, or Python.
  • Configure and maintain Red Hat Satellite, Identity Management (IdM), and related tools.
  • Collaborate with security teams to maintain compliance with security standards and protect systems against vulnerabilities.
  • Manage storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Support application teams with Linux deployment best practices.
  • Maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in on-call support and incident response as needed.
  • Setup Network File System (NFS) and mount points.
  • Configure Chron jobs for both systems and applications.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Must provide copy of Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Must provide copy of Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) certification.
  • 10+ years of experience administering Red Hat Linux systems.
  • 10+ years of experience with Unix (AIX) on IBM pSeries.
  • 15+ years of overall experience in the Information Technology (IT) field.
  • Advanced expertise in Linux administration, automation, troubleshooting, and security best practices.
