
Motor Vehicle Operator
- Operates trucks, pickups and other vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of less than 32,000 pounds both on and off the installations, over public roads in all types of traffic and in congested industrial areas.
- Operates special purpose transporter vehicles to pick up and/or deliver local purchase and routine items from central receiving, local customer turn-ins, various material and supplies throughout the installation.
- Receives priority requests, bin notices, etc., selects material from locations and verifies material by matching stock number, condition code, quantity, unit of issue with source document.
- Loads, Secure Loads, and Unloads vehicle; May operate material handling equipment (MHE) such as forklifts to load/unload and move materials.
- Completes trip tickets and fills out reports in case of accident.
- Performs preventive maintenance tasks and keeps vehicle clean.

Qualifications
The SOE and minimum qualifications for this position is:
- Ability to do the work of a Motor Vehicle Operator without more than normal supervision: I perform the common tasks of the job to be filled but under close supervision, such as pick up, transports and delivers supplies, cargo, mail, freight, and equipment to various locations and work sites; use computers to process receipts and stow materials.
Physical Effort: May exert moderate to heavy physical effort in climbing on trucks and in climbing on the trucks to load or tie down cargo. Handles objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally heavier objects with assistance of other workers or weight handling equipment. Moderate physical effort is used in operating hand and foot controls while driving, turning, starting and stopping the fork lift truck and raising, lowering and tilting the loads being moved.
Working Conditions: Operator is required to work outside and is occasionally exposed to bad weather conditions while loading and unloading vehicles. Vehicle is operated in all types of traffic and weather and there is the possibility of accidents. Must wear appropriate safety equipment as required. Working conditions are a normal part of the job and are considered in the evaluation. Must possess, or be able to obtain, and maintain all appropriate state driver's license(s) and government licensing to operate motor vehicles and equipment.
