Part Time Audio Video Event Technician
Position Summary
The Part-Time AV Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, and breaking down audiovisual equipment for events, parties, special engagements, and other functions hosted at the Ballpark and McGregor Square. This role ensures high-quality sound, video, and lighting experiences while troubleshooting technical issues and providing on-site support to event staff and clients. Duties include configuring AV systems, monitoring live event production, and maintaining equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Part Time Audio Video Event Technician
Position Summary
The Part-Time AV Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, and breaking down audiovisual equipment for events, parties, special engagements, and other functions hosted at the Ballpark and McGregor Square. This role ensures high-quality sound, video, and lighting experiences while troubleshooting technical issues and providing on-site support to event staff and clients. Duties include configuring AV systems, monitoring live event production, and maintaining equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operates and maintains all Audio/Video equipment needed for the Event.
- Responsible for Event Day setup, which includes wireless/hard-wired microphones, audio mixers, speakers for portable sound systems, and portable screens/TVs. Includes connecting clients' laptops to AV systems for operational presentations.
- Expected to exercise independent judgment in times of immediate need or emergencies.
- Need to be a quick learner and adapt to last-minute requests.
- Interacts with Clients on Event set-up and Operation.
- Must be able to work flexible hours due to the type of organization that employs this position. Advance notice will be given for schedule changes whenever possible.
- Conference Center Set-up and Operating Equipment for the event, which includes Projectors, TVs, Podium microphones, wireless microphones, mixers, AV Wall plates, and touch panels.
- Duties are not explicitly limited to the identified areas listed above.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience maintaining and operating audio/video equipment
- Computer Skills and Knowledge of connecting computers to AV systems.
- Experience working in a live production environment
- Familiarity with mixing various audio sources
- Consistent, punctual, and regular attendance.
- Professional demeanor.
- Strong ability to work well with co-workers and supervisors in a team environment
- Familiarity with working in Conference Centers for AV requirements
- Work schedule and hours may vary due to project and event requirements.
- Monday through Sunday as needed per Event Schedule.
- There will be a four-hour minimum shift for all events.
- This is a part-time position where weekly working hours will not exceed 29 hours.
- Must be able to lift, carry, and transport equipment up to 50 lbs (e.g., speakers, projectors, cables, lighting equipment).
- Must be able to operate and adjust AV equipment, including mixers, microphones, cameras, and lighting controls.
- Must be able to frequently stand, walk, kneel, bend, and climb ladders or stairs to access AV setups and rigging points.
- Must be able to read screens, troubleshoot display settings, adjust lighting, and recognize color-coded cables and connections.
- Must be able to clearly hear and identify audio quality, communicate with event staff and clients, and troubleshoot sound issues.
- Must have Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow technical instructions and event cues under pressure.
- $40 per hour. This is a temporary, part-time position that is not eligible for company health and welfare benefits.
