ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Works with the ERP system to generate bills of materials, routings, work instructions, and other product related documentation.
- Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
- Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Designs new fixtures and works with the tool room to get them made.
- Implements and carryout Engineering Change Orders
- Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
- Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs equipment and layout of equipment in workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
- Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
- Uses a voltmeter and related test equipment to troubleshoot electrical circuits.
- Understands basic Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Supports product quality by performing root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Writes manufacturing tests and quality audit procedures.
