This role is accountable for the development and execution of strategic plans for their vertical, supporting sales leaders who lead teams managing portfolios to drive growth, through maintaining and expanding relationships. He/She will lead sales organization change initiatives by continuously assessing the need for organizational change, championing change initiatives, and removing obstacles impeding constructive organizational change

The senior director accomplishes these responsibilities through effective management and development of a team of experienced directors and managers. This team executes across multiple cross functional work teams to deliver strategic and functional initiatives on time and meet expected financial and operational benefits defined by the strategy.

  • Prioritizes coaching and performance management efforts to have the greatest overall impact on business results.

  • Positively impacts the performance of sales team members by implementing and managing field support tools, including training programs, productivity initiatives, account and territory planning methodologies, and customer communication tools.
  • Coordinates the involvement of sales support personnel, including customer support, service, and management resources, so that team performance objectives and customers’ expectations are met.
  • Proactively inspects sales activity and effort among sales associates managed, ensuring that the quality and quantity of sales effort meet company expectations.
  • Identifies deficiencies in skills among sales associates managed and works to improve individuals’ capabilities through coaching, development, and training.
  • Recruits, hires and develops associates, utilizing company human resources guidelines and support resources.
  • Works with strategic accounts to ensure market-level strategic and business objectives are met by the sales team.
  • Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer requirements and satisfaction by engaging key customer accounts in conjunction with sales personnel managed. Provides a management-level point of contact for key customers. Builds and maintains strong customer relationships.
  • Builds peer support and strong internal-company relationships with other key leadership positions.
  • Establishes productive relationships with field partners based on frequent communication, collaboration, and the effective allocation of time and resources.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 10+ years of experience leading outside sales professionals to deliver business results

Preferences:

  • 5+ years experience incorporating e-commerce into sales strategy; experience identifying and building plans in response to emerging consumer trends; experience working in home improvement retail; business-to-business experience

Pay Range: $155,500.00 - $259,700.00 annually Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
