ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC
- You will perform and record corrective and scheduled preventative maintenance on submarine weapon and ordnance handling equipment as required.
- You will be operating forklift trucks inside and outside of production buildings and magazines, trucks and other confined spaces on ramps and outside areas.
- You will receipt, storage, segregation, inspect, and issue ordnance material.
- You will assure the quality, quantity and safety of ordnance materials and operations as related to the receipt, storage, issue, handling, packing and shipping of such items.
- You will perform receipt and issue inspections on ordnance items and certifies for OTR shipments. Conducts on/offload of ordnance materials to include Tomahawk VLS/CLS assets.
- You will be using 20MM and 2.75 inch rocket loading procedures in order to support the Armed Helo Program.
- You will operate motor vehicles to support the movement of ordnance materials.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

- Operating forklift trucks inside and outside of production buildings and magazines, trucks and other confined spaces on ramps and outside areas.
- Performing receipt, storage, segregation, inspect, and issue ordnance material.
- Assuring the quality, quantity and safety of ordnance materials and operations as related to the receipt, storage, issue, handling, packing, and shipping of such items.
- Performing receipt and issue inspections on ordnance items and certifies for OTR shipments. Conducts on/offload of ordnance materials to include Tomahawk VLS/CLS assets.
- Knowledge of 20MM and 2.75-inch rocket loading procedures in order to support the Armed Helo Program.
- Operating motor vehicles to support the movement of ordnance materials.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
