Job Summary: We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Designer to join our team. This role involves guiding clients through the entire design process of their custom homes, collaborating with our design and construction team, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and creativity.

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for design, excellent communication skills, and a passion for creating beautiful, functional spaces , with the fresh and beautiful M House style.

Key Responsibilities-

Client Management: Guide clients through the entire design process of their custom homes, utilizing the five phases employed by M House.

Design Leadership: Manage and mentor junior designers, ensuring design cohesion and

adherence to M House standards.

Design Preparation: Prepare for design meetings and client presentations, including

creating necessary visuals.

Site Visits: Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure design accuracy and maintain

quality control.

Deadline Management: Maintain design deadlines within the five selection phases.

Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the Design Operations Team and the

Construction Team to ensure seamless project operation.

Vendor Communication: Communicate with clients and vendors regarding design and

selections.

Custom Design: Design and draft custom built-ins and other trim details, coordinating with

carpentry and other trades for installation.

Finish Specification: Specify and draft interior finish elevations and locations.

Space Planning: Draft interior space plans and furniture layouts as needed.

Furniture Selection: Manage clients through interior furniture selections for projects that include this service.

Photo Shoot Preparation: Assist in preparing for photo shoots, including shopping, staging, and installation.

Documentation: Maintain proper documentation and files in compliance with M House standard procedures.

Idea Cataloging: Organize and maintain online catalogs of design ideas on platforms like Houzz, Pinterest, and Instagram.

Team Support: Assist the Design Operations team and Construction Team as needed.

Creative Sourcing: Generate and source new creative design ideas, products, and elements for both exterior and interior finishes, including brick, stone, tile, trim, cabinetry, lighting, flooring, windows, plumbing fixtures, and other architectural and creative finishes.

Assist in Possible Future Growth Areas-

External Client Management: Manage design clients outside of custom home build projects.

Provide turn-key design services for builds outside of Chicago's western suburbs.

Offer turn-key remodeling services for kitchens and baths.

Deliver design services for out-of-state clients.

Retail Development: Contribute to the development of a possible retail arm for M House,

whether a brick-and-mortar store or an online shop.

Qualifications-

Education:

Degree in Interior Design or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in residential interior design, with demonstrated management of junior designers and leading large custom home projects.

Skills

Proven design aesthetic that aligns with M House aesthetic.

Proficiency in design software.

Strong visual and creative skills.

Excellent communication and presentation abilities.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
