Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) - Neonatal ICU to join our partner hospital in Everett, WA. This is a unique opportunity to lead, educate, and enhance neonatal critical care while collaborating with a dedicated healthcare team.

Elevate Neonatal Critical Care

As a CNS in the NICU, you will serve as a clinical leader, educator, and consultant, driving improvements in patient care, staff development, and healthcare delivery. Your expertise will shape nursing practices, mentor staff, and ensure the highest standard of care for critically ill newborns.

= Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert clinical guidance and consultation for NICU nurses and healthcare teams.
  • Develop and implement educational programs to advance staff competency and performance.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Conduct and participate in research to advance neonatal critical care best practices.
  • Foster collaboration among physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Serve as a mentor and role model to nursing staff, promoting continuous learning and development.
  • Assist in policy and procedure development for neonatal critical care.
  • Stay informed on emerging advancements in neonatal medicine and integrate evidence-based practices.

Qualifications

Education (Must Meet One of the Following):

  • Master's or Ph.D. in a Clinical Nurse Specialist program accredited by CCNE or NLNAC.
  • Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a CNS focus.
  • Enrollment in an accredited CNS Master's, DNP, or Ph.D. program.
  • Equivalent coursework and experience may be considered (e.g., Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a different focus such as Nursing Administration or Education).

Experience & Licensure

  • 3+ years of registered nursing experience in neonatal or critical care settings.
  • Active Washington State RN License (or eligibility).
  • BLS Certification (American Heart Association) required upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Certification.
  • Certification in Neonatal Critical Care Specialty.
  • 2+ years of clinical leadership experience.
