Key Responsibilities:
- AWS Environments: Plan, deploy, and maintain critical business applications in both production and non-production AWS environments.
- Environment Design: Design and implement appropriate environments, engineer release management procedures, and provide production support.
- Cloud Adoption: Influence other teams and broader engineering groups to adopt cloud technologies, processes, and best practices.
- Standard Operating Procedures: Work with DevOps leaders to define and align on standard operating procedures and best practices.
- Automation: Automate the provisioning of environments using Ansible, Packer, and Terraform.
- Deployment Pipelines: Create application deployment pipelines with GitLab CI, Jenkins, and Helm.
- Data Availability: Design and implement strategies to ensure all platform data is highly available and replicated.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot problems, involving appropriate resources and driving resolution with a focus on minimizing customer impact.
- Agile DevOps: Participate in the Agile DevOps design, development, testing, and release of new capabilities and features, focusing on release and post-production support.
- Process Improvement: Drive improvements to processes and design enhancements to automation to continuously improve the production environment.
- Security: Work with Risk Management and Compliance teams to ensure target services are hardened and secure.
- Issue Remediation: Identify recurring issues and work with Technology and Business partners to remediate using leading industry processes.
Frequent Technologies Used:
- AWS, Ansible, Docker, GitLab, Jenkins, Kubernetes, and Linux Shell Scripting.
Skills Required:
- DevOps Expertise: Strong knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
- AWS: Experience with AWS.
- Automation: Experience in automated delivery and developing automation workflows and routines.
- Infrastructure Design: Experience in infrastructure design, implementation, and delivery.
- Containerization: Experience in containerizing applications with Docker and deploying them to Kubernetes.
- Programming: Programming experience with automation or development in Python, Ruby, or equivalent.
- Open-Source Tools: Experience with open-source tools such as Ansible, GitLab CI, Helm, Jenkins, and Terraform.
