Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

Description

We are looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team in San Jose, CA. In this role, you will focus on ensuring the highest standards of quality across our digital products and systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive exceptional outcomes. This is a long-term contract opportunity ideal for professionals who are passionate about quality assurance and thrive in agile environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for both functional and non-functional testing.
• Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites for web, API, and backend systems.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and business analysts to clarify requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Perform thorough regression, integration, and exploratory testing across multiple platforms and environments.
• Analyze test results, identify root causes of defects, and work with developers to ensure resolution.
• Drive continuous improvement in test processes, tools, and practices.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to a culture of quality across the team.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and other Agile ceremonies.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, including at least 2+ years in a senior role.
• Strong expertise with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, TestNG, Playwright, or similar.
• Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), testing methodologies, and Agile/Scrum processes.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar.
• Familiarity with performance testing tools like JMeter or K6.
• Proficiency in testing REST APIs using tools like Postman or RestAssured.
• Understanding of data visualization tools such as Grafana or similar.
• Security testing experience is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and adapt to various technologies.

Educational Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Work Hours

• Standard working hours: 9 AM to 6 PM PST.
