Job Title: Director of Sales – Dedicated Transportation
Location: Flexible / Regional Travel Required
Reports to: Regional Vice President of Sales
Position Summary:
The Director of Sales – Dedicated Transportation is responsible for identifying growth opportunities and managing client relationships within assigned territories. This leadership role is well-suited for individuals with a proven background in transportation sales, business development, and strategic client engagement. Success in this position requires strong communication skills, a results-driven mindset, and the ability to work effectively within a performance-based environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively prospect and generate new business leads through marketing initiatives and outreach.
- Develop tailored transportation solutions and proposals based on client needs and operational capabilities.
- Manage and maintain detailed records of customer interactions, contacts, and sales pipelines.
- Strengthen client relationships through consistent communication and regular on-site meetings.
- Lead or support contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and bid evaluations.
- Partner with internal teams—operations, pricing, accounting, and customer service—to ensure client satisfaction and smooth service delivery.
- Present solutions and proposals to prospective clients in a clear, compelling manner.
- Monitor trends and developments within the logistics and transportation sector.
- Collaborate with leadership and colleagues to refine sales strategies and share best practices.
- Travel as necessary to support sales efforts and client engagements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation or logistics sales (experience with truckload and dedicated services preferred).
- Deep understanding of dedicated fleet operations and logistics solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities.
- Strong relationship management and customer service capabilities.
- Analytical thinker with the ability to develop and present custom solutions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and CRM platforms.
- Flexible and adaptable work style to meet business and client demands.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Background in sales strategy, lead generation, or marketing is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits:
The salary range for this position typically falls between $120,000–$150,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and geographic location. A comprehensive benefits package is available, which may include:
