The Associate I will ensure the AMD laboratory is maintained in a clean and orderly fashion and is stocked with laboratory reagents and other supplies. The Associate I will support laboratory operations by ordering and receiving supplies, maintaining and cleaning equipment, performing routine testing including compendial testing, retrieving and storing samples and cleaning glassware and other applicable labware.

The Associate I will ensure the AMD laboratory is maintained in a clean and orderly fashion and is stocked with laboratory reagents and other supplies. The Associate I will support laboratory operations by ordering and receiving supplies, maintaining and cleaning equipment, performing routine testing including compendial testing, retrieving and storing samples and cleaning glassware and other applicable labware.
Responsibilities
- Serves as primary AMD contact for sample receipt, labeling, and inventory management.
- Follows/tracks sample shipments.
- Maintain laboratory organization
- Inventory lab supplies, consumables, chemicals, reagents
- Receive stock items and replenish to proper stocking areas
- Stock laboratories from common stock area
- Performs daily/weekly checks of equipment (e.g.: balances, storage chambers) and chemicals in the AMD lab and appropriately disposes expired reagents.
- Prepares buffers and solutions used in the AMD laboratory.
- Performs routine testing on samples received from process development teams
- Documents any experiment performed in laboratory notebooks per Abzena’s policies and standards
- Effectively communicate the results to the area management and process development teams
- Records his/her laboratory activities in logbooks and laboratory notebooks by following current good documentation practices (cGDP).
- Operates to the highest ethical and moral standards.
- Complies with Abzena’s policies and procedures.
- Adheres to quality standards set by regulations and Abzena policies, procedures, and mission.
- Communicates effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
- Ability to participate effectively as a team player in all aspects of Abzena’s business.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- BSc. In chemistry or equivalent
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with all laboratory scientists.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and changing priorities.
- Solid computer skills and abilities.
- Basic understanding of chromatography techniques such as HPLC, GC, CE.
- 0-2 years of relevant laboratory experience
